An early test version of what looks like the Xiaomi 17 Ultra just appeared in the wild. The pictures, shared by @TODO Plus, show that Xiaomi is making huge changes to the design. This phone will also pack some serious specs, mostly in the camera and battery sections.

Brand New Look

If you're used to the round camera bump on Xiaomi's old phones (people often call it the "Oreo"), get ready for something different. The new prototype has a distinct rectangular camera area on the back.
This new shape holds the three main cameras and has separate holes for the flash and other sensors. It's a fresh style for their 2026 flagship phone.

Camera Power

Taking amazing photos is still the main goal of this phone, and the specs we're hearing about are wild. The Main Camera is rumoured to use a 50MP sensor that's a massive one inch in size.
That huge sensor means it can suck up a lot of light for clear, detailed pictures. The Zoom Camera will come with a periscope lens for zooming and is tipped to have an incredible 200MP.
That Zoom camera is getting a huge power-up, so your far-away pictures should come out crystal clear. Plus, the wide-angle camera will also take super-sharp photos, since it uses a high-resolution 50-megapixel sensor to capture everything you want in the shot.
It sounds like Xiaomi ditched an earlier plan to use a different 50-megapixel sensor for the zoom and went all-in on the 200MP setup instead.

Fast Chip and Huge Battery

This phone is a flagship. As we know, Xiaomi flagships use Qualcomm's latest iterations. This means that this device will come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Extreme Edition. This chip is power hungry and will drain the battery a lot.
However, Xiaomi is making provision for that. According to the rumour, this device will come with a huge battery. The capacity is somewhere between 6000 and 7000 mAh. That size is way bigger than what most top phones have right now, which should definitely help people stop worrying about their battery dying halfway through the day.
