The latest Apple Watch models are more powerful than before. You can even consider them powerful little computers. And while they are meant to for your wrist, you can use them in other ways. At least, thatβs what TinyPod believes. It puts the smartwatch into a case that looks pretty much like a mini iPod. You even have a click wheel on the front, which can be used to control the apps and navigate through the UI. Of course, with TinyPod, you get something thatβs more capable than iPods. The latest Apple Watch models are basically a smaller version of your iPhone. You can make calls with them, listen to music, send texts, and do a lot of things that you usually do with your phone. Donβt Confuse TinyPod with a Protective Chassis for Your Apple Watch, Though
While it may seem like it, the TinyPod is not a protective chassis for your Apple Watch. Instead, it transforms your smartwatch into something that you might even replace your iPhone with. Well, this is coming from the company, as the goes with the motto βPhone away from phone.β
With this, TinyPod basically means that you get most of the phone functionality without needing an actual phone. Of course, it doesnβt take the phone companion element from the Apple Watch. It doesnβt miraculously convert your smartwatch into a phone. Instead, you get something thatβs more than a regular smartwatch but is less distracting than your phone.
The TinyPod has yet to hit the market, though. But the proper launch isnβt far from now, as the company has just teased the launch timeline being this summer. It should work with all the recently released Apple Watch models, and it should be affordable. Overall, itβs an interesting idea, and I am very much interested in learning more about it when it launches.
