Just this past weekend I took some time aside to downgrade and
jailbreak my
iPad from
iOS 4.3.1 to an
untethered 4.2.1 jailbreak, and although the process was extremely straight forward had I waited until today I could have spent the time doing something else.
The
limera1n blog have reported that an
untethered jailbreak solution will be launching within a few hour and will be
available for all to
download, both Mac and Window users.
The new
jailbreak is known as an
untethered jailbreak as it does not require the device to be re-jailbroken each time it is turned off or losses power, which believe me is really annoying!
Redsnow 0.9.8 (Windows) and PwnageTool 4.3 (Mac OSX) will support the following iDevices;
- iPhone 4, 3Gs
- iPod Touch 4G, 3G
- iPad 1 (no iPad 2 yet)
- Apple TV 2G
The release has been confirmed by the developers involved and should be available for download soon!
