Huawei's September 1st event could be about a new sub-brand

We're all aware of how Huawei operate the Honor sub-brand under the parent company. While the Huawei brand deals in smartphones that are meant for the more premium market, Honor series devices target the youth.

From what we're hearing, there could be another Huawei sub-brand in the making. Huawei have announced an event for the 1st of September, which happens to be one day before the IFA in Berlin kicks off.

The event, that will kick off at 10:30 am Central European Summer Time (CEST), comes with a teaser of its own that reads 'Defy Expectations'. According to news from China, Huawei plan to add another sub-brand (Nova?) to their kitty, to look after mid-range phones.

With just about a week to go for 1st September, there isn't much waiting we need to do before we get to know it all. What's your take on the whole sub-brand idea that seems to have got Chinese brands fascinated?
