Here is what we know: On February 5th, a law firm that has
worked with LG in the past filed a trademark for "G3" in the mobile
phone category on behalf of
LG.
Now keep in mind,
companies grab trademarks for future products and potential future products all the time. While they often like to wait to the last minute before filing, that is not always the case, especially when it comes to obvious names that everyone knows are coming
eventually. Therefore, this does not necessarily mean that the
LG G3 will be shown at the
Mobile World Congress but does mean the
phone is likely coming at some point soon. We are far more likely to see the
LG G
Pro 2 at
MWC 2014, that
phone has been rumored for months.
The G3 is rumored to sport a Quad-HD 2K screen (2560x1440) up to 6 inches. It is also rumored to have a Octa-core
processor with big.
LITTLE architecture for better
battery life.
Its a bit of a mystery, what
LG plans to do with two major
phones expected to come out this year. The
LG G
Pro is due a sequel, but most experts expect the G3 to come out in time to compete with Samsung's
Galaxy S5.
As we have been saying a lot this month, we will likely find out more at the
Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next month, if not about the G3, then at least LG's next
phone. If the G3 isn't revealed there, it will likely show itself at a special event put on by LG, possibly in April or May.
