LG has officially
resurrected its "Wallpaper" TV brand at
CES 2026, and the engineering is far beyond the 2017 original. The
LG OLED evo W6 is a 9mm-thin display that functions as a "True Wireless" unit. Unlike previous attempts that required a bulky ribbon cable, the W6 uses the
Zero Connect Box to beam uncompressed
4K signals at 165Hz from up to 10 meters away.
Key Points:
- World's thinnest true wireless OLED at just 9mm thick.
- Zero Connect Box transmits lossless 4K video at 165Hz wirelessly.
- Hyper Radiant Color tech delivers brightness 3.9x higher than standard OLEDs.
- First-ever "Reflection Free Premium" certified screen (0.5% reflectance).
- Features Alpha 11 AI Processor Gen3 with Google Gemini and Copilot.
Hyper Radiant Color and Brightness
The W6 is more than a design flex; it is LG's brightest panel to date. It utilizes a new Primary RGB Tandem 2.0 panel, which LG calls Hyper Radiant Color Technology.
- Luminance: Driven by the Alpha 11 AI Processor Gen3, the W6 hits brightness levels 3.9 times higher than standard OLEDs.
- Anti-Reflection: It is the first television to receive the "Reflection Free Premium" certification. The screen reflectance is less than 0.5%, meaning it maintains "Perfect Black" levels even in a sun-drenched living room.
Gaming at 165Hz Wireless
LG is positioning the W6 as a high-end gaming monitor for the living room. The Zero Connect Box supports 4K at 165Hz with a 0.1ms response time. It includes:
- NVIDIA G-Sync & AMD FreeSync Premium Pro.
- 120Hz Cloud Gaming: Native support for GeForce Now at 4K/120Hz.
- AI Director Processing: A new feature in the Alpha 11 chip that preserves film texture while removing digital noise in real-time.
webOS 2026: AI Hub and Copilot
The software has moved beyond simple app rows. The 2026 webOS features an AI Hub that integrates Google Gemini and Microsoft Copilot. Users can generate custom "wallpaper" art via natural language prompts or use Voice ID profiles to get personalized content recommendations.
The LG OLED evo W6 will launch in 77-inch and 83-inch sizes later this year. Prices haven't been finalized, but expect it to sit well above the G6 series in the luxury tier.
