With rumours that Meizu are to
launch the M2 Note and MX5 in June are customers still willing to buy current Meizu
phones even at knock-down prices?
If we take all the rumours about Meizu as true that we have seen over the past few days then we come to the following conclusions:
With all these details racking up and official
launch invitations already sent out to Chinese press and media Meizu fans and owners of current phones have a lot to think about.
But what about potential customers? Are they willing to buy phones that could be outdated or out of production in just a few weeks? Meizu hope yes, and have dropped pricing to lure customers over.
The official retail
price of the
MX4 now starts at just 1499 Yuan in China, with a 32GB model costing 1699 Yuan, where as the basic Meizu
MX4 Pro is not on sale for just 1999 Yuan. The MX4 Pro is a deal at price and those specs (2k display, 3GB RAM etc) but will Meizu continue to support the Samsung powered phone with
Mediatek now being a key investor?
There is a lot to think about here. While Meizu do have exciting announcements for June, they also risk alienating current Meizu MX4, Pro and Meilan owners!
