OnePlus 16 Will Be All About Camera Upgrades

The OnePlus 15 is still a fresh device, but the tech industry never slows down. Even before its full life cycle plays out, early details about its successor - The OnePlus 16 - are already starting to appear. According to the first reports, this time, the focus is on the camera.

According to well-known leaker Digital Chat Station, the upcoming OnePlus 16 may come with a massive 200MP camera sensor. If this turns out to be true, it would mark a major jump in camera resolution for OnePlus phones. Of course, we shouldn't hold our breath just yet. We all know that the number of megapixels won't tell the whole story. In any case, it will be a determining step for OnePlus to say its devices are not only focused in performance.

The leak also points to a close link between the OnePlus 16 and the Oppo Find N6. Both devices will share the same camera hardware, including the main and telephoto sensors. This would not be surprising. OnePlus and Oppo have followed this pattern before.

A good example is the OnePlus 15 and the Oppo Find N5. Both phones launched with the same 50MP main camera and a 50MP telephoto lens. If history repeats itself, the OnePlus 16 and Find N6 could once again use identical camera setups. This time, the upgrade will be centered around a high-resolution 200MP sensor.

At this early stage, exact details are still limited. However, a 200MP camera would likely bring better zoom quality, sharper photos, and more flexibility for image cropping. Whether this sensor will be used for the main camera or the telephoto lens is still unclear.

As said before, the OnePlus 15 has just been released. And the wait will be long for the next device. In fact, the OnePlus 16 is expected to launch around October 2026 at the earliest. That leaves plenty of time for more leaks, confirmations, and refinements before the phone becomes official.
