OPPO's next phone, the Find X10, is set to feature a genuinely record-breaking detail: 0.99mm bezels on all four sides, making it the first Find phone with bezels below 1mm, thatss a pretty big thing. This isn't just a rumor anymore, either. Pre-orders for the Find X10 series have already opened in China, confirming the detail ahead of the official reveal.

LIPO technique

Most phones don't have perfectly even bezels, even when they look like it at a glance. That's because the display's driver chip usually connects along the bottom edge, forcing that side to be thicker than the top and sides. OPPO's solution is a technique called LIPO(Low-temperature Injection PressOver) which reroutes that driver connection to attach from the side or back of the panel instead. That's what allows OPPO to keep all four bezels the same size, rather than having one thicker "chin" like most phones still do.

LIPO isnt new

LIPO isn't brand new. OPPO already proved it works on the Find X9s, which hit 1.15mm bezels on a smaller 6.3-inch screen. The bigger achievement is doing it on a full-size flagship display while making the bezels even thinner.

The generational trend of OPPO phones

OPPO's bezels have been shrinking steadily for a few generations now: 1.45mm on the Find X8, 1.15mm on the Find X9, and now 0.99mm on the Find X10. It's a pretty consistent pattern of OPPO treating bezel size as an engineering priority. So this isn't just the same trick being used again.

But will you actually notice?

The change is just 0.16mm per bezel. That's not something most people are going to notice immediately when picking up the phone. I mean going from 1.15mm to 0.99mm is a real technical improvement. The difference on the phone itself, however, will be tiny. Still, getting all four sides below 1mm is a neat milestone. It shows just how far flagship display design has come.
