OPPO just shared new details about ColorOS 17 ahead of its launch, and this time the company is showing off something you might not immediately notice in a spec sheet: the way the interface actually moves.

Finger gestures

The notification panel and control center are getting what OPPO calls "progressive motion." In simple terms, animations are supposed to react more naturally to how you touch the screen. A quick swipe makes everything move faster, while a slower drag adds a bit more weight to the animation instead of making the UI simply snap into place.
The direction of the gesture also plays a role. Swiping down from the top of the screen and pushing something up from the bottom won't have the same animation in reverse. The movement changes depending on where the gesture starts. That should make the whole thing feel a little more connected to what your finger is actually doing.

Control center changes

There's also a big visual change coming to the control center. Testers have spotted OPPO moving away from the usual rounded-square buttons and toward fully circular toggles. The new design uses translucent panels, a frosted-glass effect, and soft glowing edges.

Small things matter!

Brightness and volume sliders are getting a similar look too The company is bringing the same style to the lock screen, notification panel, and app search.
It might sound like a small thing, and honestly, it is. Nobody buys a phone just because the notification shade has nicer animations. But these are parts of the system people use constantly throughout the day. You probably won't stop and think about how good the animation feels. But you will notice when it doesn't! :)
That's usually where good software design shows up. In these small things that make the phone feel nicer to use.
