JiaYu are an extremely confusing Chinese
phone company to follow and things are getting way more difficult as it looks like the current
updated JiaYu G2S isn't the G2S after all and it will in fact come later this year.
JiaYu recently
updated their low-cost G2 phones with dual-core
MT6577 CPU's and low $100 price tags. The
new G2 is known by many as the G2S, however it now looks like the G2S will be a totally
new phone with
updated design and will
launch later this year.
The JiaYu G2S shown here next to the current G2 is slightly thinner than the current model and has had the physical
home button replaced by three capacitive touch buttons to navigate and choose options.
The G2S is expected to feature a similar spec as the JiaYu G3, dual-core MT6577 CPU, 1GB RAM, 4GB ROM, 8 mega-pixel rear camera but will a
4 inch screen rather than the G3's 4.
5 inch display and a smaller 2050mAh
battery.
If JiaYu do launch the G2S with this specification and we presume lower price we expect some might opt for this phone rather than the G3, so could this mean the JiaYu G3 will be getting a quad-core MT6588 update sooner than we had expected?
