Having reviewed the original OneOdio Fusion A70 headphones a couple of years ago, we were genuinely curious to see how the brand would upgrade them. The first generation delivered unmatched battery life and handy dual-jack connectivity for a tiny price. However, its plastic design and boomy, bass-heavy audio profile left room for refinement. Enter the brand-new OneOdio Fusion A70 GEN 2. After putting this upgraded model through its paces, I can confirm that OneOdio kept everything that made the original a fan favorite while fixing its biggest flaws.

Design, Comfort, and Build Quality

Out of the box, the Fusion A70 GEN 2 looks noticeably more polished than the original. While the frame still uses lightweight plastic, the finishing feels far higher in quality. The headband features plush padding lined with soft faux leather. The memory foam ear cushions are thicker and more breathable than before. They seal gently around your ears without applying painful clamping pressure.

The physical layout remains a dream for mobile DJs and creators. The earcups swivel a full 90 degrees for easy single-ear monitoring. The entire frame folds inward into a tight bundle, slipping easily into the included travel pouch. Button controls on the right earcup feel clicky and responsive. Most importantly, OneOdio replaced the old micro-USB port with a modern USB-C charging interface.

Connectivity and the Dual-Jack Setup

What sets the Fusion series apart is its hybrid nature. The A70 GEN 2 continues this tradition by offering two built-in audio ports. You get a standard 3.5mm port on the right earcup and a full-size 6.35mm jack on the left. This means you can plug directly into audio interfaces, guitar amps, or DJ mixers without losing track of loose dongle adapters.

On the wireless side, the headset jumps straight to Bluetooth 6.0. Wireless pairing is instant, and signal drops are virtually non-existent even in crowded areas. It also supports dual-device multipoint connection. You can stay connected to your laptop for a video call and seamlessly switch to your phone when a call comes through. The iconic SharePort feature is also back. You can link a second pair of wired headphones to your A70 GEN 2 to share a movie or music track with a friend.

Sound Performance and App Customization

The original model leaned heavily into boomy, aggressive bass that sometimes buried vocal details. The A70 GEN 2 completely fixes this tuning balance. Equipped with upgraded 40mm dynamic drivers and Hi-Res Audio certification, the soundstage feels much wider and cleaner. The bass remains punchy and deep, but it no longer bleeds into the midrange. Vocals sound crisp, and instruments are clearly separated.
Wireless audio quality takes a massive leap forward thanks to LDAC support. When streaming high-bitrate tracks, acoustic guitars and percussion sparkle with extra clarity. If the default sound profile does not match your taste, you are no longer stuck with it. The new OneOdio companion app lets you tweak a full graphic EQ. You can switch between built-in presets or create your own custom sound curves for different genres.

Battery Life and Daily Usability

Battery performance remains one of the absolute best features of these headphones. The internal battery delivers up to 72 hours of continuous wireless playback on a single charge. In real-world testing at medium volume, I used these headphones for two full weeks of daily work sessions and evening gaming without needing to plug them in.

When the battery finally runs dry, you have two great options. A quick 15-minute charge over USB-C gives you several hours of playback. Alternatively, you can simply plug in either of the included audio cables and keep listening indefinitely in passive wired mode. This complete lack of battery anxiety makes the GEN 2 an ideal travel partner.

Final Verdict

The OneOdio Fusion A70 GEN 2 is a fantastic evolution of an already popular budget classic. It keeps the clever dual-jack layout, foldability, and 72-hour battery life while upgrading the core audio experience with LDAC, Bluetooth 6.0, and app customization. Whether you are a bedroom DJ, a daily commuter, or a casual listener, these headphones deliver exceptional overall value.
