Samsung is preparing to launch its next luxury foldable phone in China. Called the Samsung W27, the new model has appeared in a leaked photo ahead of its expected debut on October 29.
The W27 looks like a premium version of the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra. It has a dark blue finish, gold accents around the frame and camera island, and a gold W-series logo on the back. Under the new design, however, the phone is expected to share the same hardware as Samsung's global foldable flagship.

A luxury design made for China

Samsung's W series offers more exclusive versions of its foldable phones. These models are sold in China through China Telecom and often feature more premium finishes, extra memory and larger retail packages.
The new W27 follows that same plan. Its dark blue body and gold details give it a different look from the standard Fold8 Ultra, while the triple rear camera setup appears to be the same.
Last year's W26 was based on the Galaxy Z Fold7. It came in red and black, both with gold accents, and added satellite calling and messaging through China's Tiantong system.
The W26 started at 16,999 yuan (about $2,390) for the 512GB model. The 1TB version cost 18,999 yuan (about $2,670). Samsung has not yet revealed the W27's price.

Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra specs are expected

According to the leak, the W27 will have the same specifications as the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra. That means we can expect a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, an 8-inch foldable inner screen and a 6.5-inch cover display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
The camera setup is also expected to match the global model. It should include a 200MP main camera, while a 5,000mAh battery could power the phone.
The W27 may also offer 16GB of RAM as standard. Samsung offered that much memory on both storage versions of the W26, even though some global foldable models had less RAM.
Samsung has not confirmed the full specifications, so these details remain based on reports and the expected link to the Fold8 Ultra.

Launch expected on October 29

Samsung is expected to unveil the W27 in China on October 29. The phone is likely to remain exclusive to the Chinese market, with China Telecom handling sales.
The W27 is not expected to bring a major hardware change over the Fold8 Ultra. Instead, its appeal will come from the more exclusive design and possible memory upgrades. For buyers who want a foldable that looks different from the usual Samsung models, that may be enough. The final price will show how much extra the luxury finish costs.
