dual boot we knew of was Viewsonic’s Viewpad with it’s and dual boot
Windows 7/Android Operating systems. Today however there is a new kid on the block, and it’s rocking a very similar hardware configuration along with offering the same dual boot benefits only at a much lower price. More details and photos after the jump
Like most
Shenzhen made tablets the factory making this dual boot beauty have despensed with the nicetie such as naming their product and have instead stuffed it chock a block full of hardware and
software features that will make even
iPad 2 owners jealous.
First up is the OS. Out of the box this rather angular is running Windows 7 and
Android 1.6. 1.6 you cry!, but the title says
2.2... don’t worry an upgrade should have been made available by the time most of you manage to get your hands on one.
Under the hood we have a Intel
Atom 1Ghz N455
CPU, 1Gb DDR3 RAM and a 16Gb SSD hard drive. There’s also a battery in there too (which is handy).
The front of the device is completly devoid of buttons and only
features the 10 inch
multi touch screen, front facing camera and a lovely looking Windows logo.
The sides is where all the button-age and plug fun is going on; the bottom edge gets a couple of stereo speakers.
While the side gets 3 unmarked but backlit home, power and back buttons.
The top edge of the get some cooling vent plus a 3G SIM slot and an ethernet connection, just in case to wanted your ultra-portable to be ultra-not-portable.
Hiding around the left edge are the micro SD card reader, Mini VGA, DC-in, 2x USB and a earphone and microphone.
This dual boot beauty has more than enough power to take on the current crop of Tegra 2 devices, and even leave you with enough change to pick up a nice cover for it too as they are currently on sale for the amazingly low price of $305!!
