Vivo has kicked off a new chapter in its V Series lineup with the launch of the Portrait Master Project, an initiative that blends advanced smartphone imaging with the creative touch of professional photographers. The project made its debut alongside the new vivo V60, and its first collaboration features American photographer Diane Villadsen.

Portrait Power in Your Pocket with vivo V60

The Portrait Master Project builds on more than a decade of vivo’s work in mobile imaging. From now on, every new release in the V Series will bring a different photographer. The professionals will take the spotlight, using the phone to showcase their own style and approach to storytelling.

Photographer Diane Villadsen, the first V Series Portrait Master, speaks at the V60 global launch event in Malaysia.

For the first edition, Villadsen worked under the theme “Snap into Your Vibe,” which celebrates authentic moments and genuine emotions. Known for her bold use of color and geometric compositions, she found the V60’s ZEISS-powered portrait tools a natural fit.
In my work, I want the moment itself to guide the image,” Villadsen explained. “The ZEISS Super Telephoto Camera on the V60 quickly became a favorite of mine. It let me zoom in and frame clean compositions, even when shooting in busy environments.”

We believe imaging is where technology meets humanity,” said Keshav Chugh,  Senior Product Manager for Image Effects at vivo. “With the V Series Portrait  Master Project, we want to show what our technology can do in the capable hands of professional photographers and perhaps inspire users to get even more creative  in the ways they use their V series products to capture life’s most meaningful  moments.”

The Vivo V60 Continues The Excellence of ZEISS & Vivo Partnership

By using the V60, Villadsen was able to move freely, interact with her subjects, and capture portraits that feel alive and spontaneous. Her images for the campaign highlight how the phone’s technology supports creativity without getting in the way.

The vivo V60 itself comes equipped with a 50MP ZEISS Super Telephoto Camera and the ZEISS Multifocal Portrait feature, offering 85 mm and 100 mm focal lengths for expressive shots. It also includes a 10x Telephoto Stage Portrait mode, aimed at capturing moments from further away while keeping details sharp.
According to vivo, the goal is simple: make professional-level portraits possible for everyday users. The company says the Portrait Master Project will continue in future V Series launches, giving different photographers a chance to demonstrate how the camera can be used in unique and personal ways.
Villadsen stated, “Having a tool like this in your pocket makes creativity more accessible. You don’t need to carry a DSLR to capture something that feels professional.”
