Last night at an event in Beijing, Chinese
phone maker BBK
launched their latest flagship
phone the
Vivo Xplay. A lot was already known about this
phone prior to release, however the company still had a few surprises.
Although the
specification of the Vivo
Xplay has been common knowledge for a few weeks now, 2 details remained a
mystery right up until last evenings
launch, the size of the 1080HD
display and the price.
If you caught our
updated post yesterday you will already have learnt that the
Xplay boasts a 1920 x
1080 FHD
display measuring 5.7-inches! In comparison the Galaxy Note 2 has a 5.5-inch 720p
display and the Huawei Ascend Mate has a 6.1-inch 720p
display.
If you're worried about the size of the Xplay and how difficult it might be to use one handed you needn't as Vivo have included a neat feature which mirrors the display at a smaller, thumb friendly size to easy use.
As for pricing rumours had the
Xplay price ranging from between $450 to $650, and in all honesty we were expecting the latter, so it was a shocking surprise to find that official pricing for the 16GB Vivo
Xplay is 2998 Yuan ($480) which has this Chinese
phablet competing with Oppo's Find 5!
Unlike previous Vivo
phones though (see Vivo X1) the
Xplay is actually a bargain at $480 and manages to out shine the
Oppo Find 5 in every way! Not only is the
display larger o the Xplay, but the processor is the new
Snapdragon 600 quad-core chip with Adreno 320 GPU, Vivo have also added an
updated 5-mega-pixel front camera to the
phone also.
The rest of the Vivo Xplay specification includes 2GB RAM, 13 mega-pixel rear camera and 3400mAh battery with dimensions measuring in at 153.8 x 79.68 x 7.99mm and a weight of 187g.
