The sky is the limit with the arrival of Silicon-Carbon battery technology. Smartphone makers are venturing into bigger and bigger capacities, and
Vivo is one of the brands taking a ride in this trend. The company has just teased its upcoming smartphone, the Vivo Y500, which will bring a monster battery. Today, Vivo c
onfirmed the launch of the new device for September 1 in China, and it also revealed the 8,200 mAh battery capacity for the new device.
Vivo Y500 Coming With Massive Battery
The Vivo Y500 will greatly exceed its predecessor, which had a 6,000 mAh unit. So far, the 6,000 mAh was a typical number for mid-range smartphones that were focused in battery life. The Vivo Y500 aims to go beyond with this astonishing battery, and we are sure it will deliver solid numbers, and this probably will be a two-day-use smartphone.
Vivo didn't reveal the technology, but it's easy to guess that this is a Si-C battery. As acknowledged through the past releases, the new technology that is consolidating among Chinese brands can fit more capacity in a compact footprint. Thanks to this advancement, we are seeing 7,000 battery smartphones, and now Vivo goes beyond with an 8,200mAh device.
While the battery alone certainly is one of the major highlights in this device, Vivo is also teasing other interesting aspects. For instance, the Vivo Y500 will come with IP69+/IP69/IP68 ratings along with SGS Gold label five-star certification against drops and impacts.
The company didn't reveal more aspects of the smartphone. However, the teaser confirms the design with a circular camera island for three camera modules and a small LED ring. It appears in Light Blue, Black, and Purple color options. Despite the battery and durability labels, the device isn't bulky and resembles a regular, modern smartphone.
