With the
Snapdragon 820 finally official, all eye are on China for the first SD820 powered
phones. We all have our favourites at who could be first, but have
Xiaomi beat everyone to the finish?
Earlier today a device named the Xiaomi Gemini was spotted on
Geekbench. As we all know, Xiaomi uses codenames for its upcoming phones so a little further investigation was needed to determine what it might be.
According to the benchmark this mystery devices is running Android 6.0 on a Qualcomm MSM8996 chipset, if you aren’t well versed in your chip codes then let us just tell you that this is the name of the recently released
Snapdragon 820 chipset.
There isn’t much else information here other than the fact the device is running 3GB RAM and scored 2140 in single-core test and 47632 in the multi-core section of the benchmark.
With only a few months until the end of the year, and only slightly more time until the Chinese New Year, we should see the big brands releasing their next generation flagships in the coming months.
The
Xiaomi Mi5 is expected to ship with a Snapdragon 820, but eyes are also on LeTV, Vivo, and Oppo too. Who will be first?
