Xiaomi produces all sorts of gadgets that you can think of. However, its phones remain the most popular. The company is not giving up on its other products. It is trying hard to get people who don't already use their phones to take a look at their gear.
Buds 6
The company just shared that its new Buds 6 will actually work with Apple’s Find My app. This is a pretty big deal for the company. It is the first time they’ve made headphones for both Android and iOS users. This means that Android and iPhone users can track if they ever go missing.
This integration means a lot for Xiaomi. It is clearly trying to make its hardware a more tempting option. The target is iPhone users, obviously. If its phones cannot get to them, then maybe it's headphones.

Smart Tracking and iOS Compatibility

The biggest news for this release is the focus on location services. Xiaomi has introduced a powerful real-time tracking system. The company calls this feature Xiaomi Find. For the first time, users can track their earbuds over long distances. They can also use a ringer to find them by sound when they are nearby. The system is sensitive enough to identify and locate a single earbud if one goes missing.
For iPhone owners, the integration with Apple’s Find My app is the real game-changer. You can now add the earbud case to your list of Apple devices. Thus, you can see its location on a map right alongside your other gadgets.
However, there are some technical limits to keep in mind. The Xiaomi system can track individual buds. However, the Apple app is currently limited to finding the charging case itself.

The Trade-Off for Users

There is a specific process for those who want to use these tracking features. Xiaomi has designed the earbuds so they can only be linked to one tracking network at a time. This means you must choose between the Xiaomi Find system and the Apple Find My network.
What about if you make a switch? If you change your phone either way, switching is not simple. This is probably a down side. There is a full factory reset. You must do this on the ear buds to make the switch.

Premium Hardware and AI Features

Beyond the tracking tech, the Buds 6 are packed with high-end audio components. Xiaomi collaborated with the experts at Harman to tune the sound profile. It uses a triple-magnetic gold-plated driver system. The hardware supports high-resolution audio. It has a transmission rate of up to 2.1Mbps. This results in a cleaner and better listening experience relative to regular wireless buds.
The earbuds also lean heavily into artificial intelligence. They feature a three-microphone system designed to cancel out background noise during calls, but the AI goes even further. The software can actually record conversations and provide a summarised version of the meeting. It even supports real-time translation and simultaneous interpretation, making these a useful tool for travellers or professionals who work in multiple languages.

Design and Launch Details

Xiaomi also prioritised comfort and style with this latest model. Each earbud is remarkably light. It weighs in at only 4.4 grams. The design uses what the company calls a bionic curve. This is to ensure they sit well in the ear for long periods. The bud is available in four distinct colours. This includes Nebula Purple, Pearl White, Titanium Gold, and Moon Shadow Black.
The Xiaomi Buds 6 officially hit the market on December 25th with a starting price of 699 RMB (about $100). With this combination of premium audio, lightweight design, and newfound cross-platform tracking, Xiaomi is positioning these as a serious contender in the busy wireless earbud market.
