Neo N002i get’s updated IPS screen available from 1st January

Ahead of the quad-core N003 MT6589 launch, Neo have revamped the popular Neo N002i with an improved IPS display, while keeping a low price and high performance spec!

Neombile have been one of less exciting but more stable up and coming young Chinese phone makers to emerge from 2012 with the great N002 dual-core phone selling well and the quad-core MT6589 N003 on its way.

But to welcome in the New Year, Neo have an updated N002 dual-core phone prepared and ready to ship from tomorrow onwards. Based on the popular N002, the new N002i receives almost identical hardware as the earlier phone, but with an improved 4.5-inch 960 x 540 IPS display.

Gizchina News of the week

We would have also liked to have seen the N002i receive an official Android Jelly Bean update too, but this is not the case and instead we are left with Android 4.0.4 ICS. Check out the full specification below:

Neo Rio N002i Specification

  • CPU: MTK MT6577 dual-core 1Ghz
  • RAM: 1GB
  • Screen: 4.5-inch IPS 960 x 540 resolution
  • Camera: 2 mega-pixel front 8 mega-pixel rear
  • Battery: 1850 mAh
  • Chinese retail price 868 Yuan

Again Neo have managed to put together a great looking phone for a very affordable price ($140) and with the updated IPS screen in place of the older TFT unit, this look like one of the first great bargains of the year!

Andi, could you please tell me what is the difference between Neo N02 M and Neo N002i? Which one would you recommend to buy?
Also, I want to buy it as a gift for my mother who lives in Russia. Do you know if it supports Russian language and does it have Russian interface?

She is not a tech person. Do you think this phone is easy to use out of the box? What other phone could you recommend that would be ready to use out of the box?

Sorry for so many questions. Hope to hear from you or other users of this site!

    Thank you.
