Photos have just surfaced on Chinese tech sites showing a purported 6.44-inch 1080 display destined for a future Sony phone.
The glass panel for the mystery super-size Sony will cover the entire front of the phone, and sports a narrow bezel design while lacking any capacitive navigation buttons’.
If this Sony 6.44-inch display does arrive on a Xperia phone in the future, it would make the phone the largest in its class. The Huawei Ascend Mate measures in at 6.1-inch with a 720 display, the rumoured Nubia Z7 has a 6.3-inch 1080 screen and rumours suggest Samsung’s next phablet will be only 5.8-inches!
No other details have been leaked and we can’t make out much more from the leaked factory photos, but we will be sure to follow-up with future news!

In fact I’d support 6 inches for the optimum ‘pocketable’ smartphone.
I use one such and everyone who sees it in action wants one.

Minimizing the bezels and reaching something near a frameless device, 6″ could even look not that big. In fact manufacturers are moving in that direction, so I believe it’s a matter of time. More than 6 would point to a tablet size handheld, less pocketable than a BIG smartphone.
