iOcean plan to being preorders for both the ‘Youth’ version and ‘Premium’ version of the X7 on March 6! It hasn’t been disclosed just how many of the phones will be available in the first batch, but expect the phone to be short supply and high demand!

The iOcean X7 features a 5-inch 1920 x 1080 full HD display, 2GB RAM, quad-core MT6589 processor, 13 mega-pixel camera, 3000mAh battery and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The ‘Youth’ version of the X7 offers a similar spec but with 1GB RAM, 8 mega-pixel rear camera and 2000mAh battery for just 999 Yuan ($160).

Andy what about supports WCDMA. Do you know anything about it?
The first question is the most important one for us guys in Europe (WCDMA). Having only 2G could be much of a problem.
It uses the MT6589 chipset, so it will support 850/1900/2100 WCDMA just like the MTK 6573, 6575, and 6577 phones.
In aliexpress there is a preorder and there is written 3G: WCDMA 900/2100MHz so maybe will support umts 900mhz, i hope so.
Yes it will, my list was wrong! MTK 657x all support:
2G: 850M/900M/1800M/1900MHZ
3G: 850/900/1900/2100MHz
Yet for 3G/WCDMA the retailers usually state 850/2100 or 900/2100 for some reason. For example, I have a THL W6 and an unbranded A5 (MTk6573 iPhone) and if you go look on retailers on both phones they will usually state two of those frequencies.
Heck even the official THL’s site (en.thl.com.cn) only states 850/2100. I guess the chinese see 850/900 as one frequency.
Starting to like iOcean more than Umi XII since the battery is 3000mAh, I’m waiting for the ROM, definitely a monster if it has 32GB.
What the hell are you talking about the sheng is only 2000mah and I don’t think you know what ROM is.
2000mAh is the youth version, the non youth version is 3000mAh, check it out at the table up there. ROM is some sort of storage right? Correct me if I’m wrong.
The biggest questions are the type of the display, is the glass tempered and how it will handell full HD.
the youth version has got 32 gigs internal memory then obviously premium version wil come with same capacity…
why are you so sure premium version will have 32 gigs as well? could be 64, although this would be way to good value to be true!!
However, if it is 32 gigs as well, why didn’t they announce it for both?
So guys, is there any way to order for someone from Europe?

I will go with the iOcean Youth because I am simply looking for the 1080p display, and at $160 what can I say?
I don’t need 13.1 MP as the 8MP on the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is fine and the Nikon D800 takes spectacular pictures..and every experience I am looking for in a phone I can get on the Note 2 except the 1080p display

Will this X7 comes with Google Playstore ? China phone without it really made me headache here
Not really a big concern for me, as you can install Playstore on any android device just like any apk. Sheng should keep concentrated on awesome hardware, if it does the community will provide custom roms for sure, and no one cares any more if stock rom has gapps or not 🙂
