iOcean X7 Elite Edition spotted with quad-core MT6589T and 2GB RAM

The iOcean X7 has only been on the market for a few months, but already a refresh is in the pipeline, one that features a 1.5Ghz Mediatek MT6589T Turbo processor!

UMi, JiaYu, Zopo and now iOcean have all confirmed that their flagship phones will be released with the more powerful Turbo MT658T SoC from Mediatek. It’s not clear why such an early update is happening, but some suggest shortages of the standard quad-core chip have forced manufacturers to fast forward through their roadmaps.

Gizchina News of the week

iOcean’s updated Turbo X7 will be named the iOcean X7 Elite and features not only the faster quad-core chip but additional RAM bringing the total up to 2GB. Internal memory has been boosted to 32GB ROM and the rear camera is now a 13 mega-pixel sensor rather than the 8MP found on the Youth model.

Early Antutu Benchmarks show that the X7 Elite is going to be quite the performer with a score of 14,230, in spite of the 5-inch FHD 1080 display! iOcean have been pretty good for launching their phones shortly after leaks and announcements, let’s hope they stay true to form with their latest handset!

Finally!! I’ve waited for this model because full hd is too much for not mtk turbo model.

It would be perfect with 720p… but I expected works fine in this version.

Yes finally, this was my first choice in february because of the similar specs, but better style (Umi X2 and Neo N003 look like a ugly Galaxy S3). My next phone and first smartphone.

Zopo ZP980 turbo and this are now identical spec’d (as is UMI x2 turbo) however both Zopo and IOcean have huge foreheads at the top of the phone, why do they do this, otherwise it would be perfect. Would be interested to see the comparison of physical dimensions between X2 and these two. UMI looks to be considerably shorter in length yet having the same screen size.

Ok, answered my own question with a minutes research. The umi X2 is 8mm shorter than Zp980, and 6mm shorter than X7.

8mm in this day is quite a bit for the same specs and same screen size!!

Thats not true -.- (length, width, thickness)
        iOcean X7= 141,69, 8.95 mm (150g)
        Umi X2= 141, 70, 8.9 mm (155g)
        Zopo C2= 143.3, 70, 8.5mm (150g)
        Neo N003=142.5x71x10.5mm (173,3g)
Based on official site information. So the all are pretty much the same dimensions.

Even if you don’t like the style at least the iOcean looks different from the multitude of Samsung and iPhone lookalikes that are being churned out by China manufacturers, props to iOcean for being different.
