Honor's Tuning Master Gives You Real Control Over Sound

Honor has rolled out a new feature called Tuning Master inside MagicOS 11 software, which lets users change how their phone sounds. The update arrived alongside the official MagicOS 11 release on September 15. The feature focuses on audio, giving users more control over everyday listening.

Tuning Master centers on a 10-band equalizer, letting you adjust sound output in precise detail rather than relying on a single, fixed audio profile. Bass and vocals can also be boosted with one tap, a useful shortcut for listeners who do not want to manually adjust each band every time.

It also comes with five preset modes built in: powerful bass, clear vocals, crisp treble, upbeat background music, and a smoother setting for audiobooks. Users can save their own setups for music, movies, or headphones and switch between them when they want.

A 10-band EQ is not exactly new on smartphones tho, but Honor hasnt given us this level of control in its software before. Adding it through a software update, and not just giving it to a new hardware, was the better choice here. I mean, from the eyes of a customer, an owner of a brand new Honor, of course you wouldnt want to buy a new phone just for this feature, right after you bought one.

The rollout is limited at launch. Confirmed models are the Honor Magic8 RSR Porsche Design, Magic8 Pro, Magic 8, Magic7 RSR Porsche Design, Magic7 Pro, Magic7, and the GT Pro. All seven are premium or flagship-tier phones, meaning users with budget Honor phones will need to wait, if they will get it at all.

Honor has said that work is ongoing for other devices, but has not confirmed which phones are next. They didnt even give a timeline. That leaves a big gap for anyone outside the flagship lineup, and software features tied to high-end devices do not always reach cheaper models in the same generation, if ever.
