iFive’s Colorful Android tablet costs just $50

iFive launched their latest Android tablet just before the Chinese New Year Holidays, and at a cost of just $50 the iFive 100 is quite a steal.

We saw news of the iFive 100 a few weeks ago but after reading the specs thought it would be another sub 1000 Yuan tablet with soso hardware, well we were partly right the tablet does cost less than 1000 Yuan, in fact it costs just 299 Yuan ($50) here in China giving us a whole new perspective of the device.

Gizchina News of the week

The iFive 100 packs a 7-inch 1024 x 600 display, Rockchips RK3026 dual-core processor, 512MB RAM, front facing camera, SD card slot, WIFI and Android 4.2 OS making this a great affordable device. We would however like to see a slight updated mode with possibly 1GB RAM and a quad-core chipset (maybe even 3G) which should all be possibly for around the $70 mark. In any case the 100 is a cheap tablet, perfect for throwing in your backpack and not worrying about.

If that can get an android 4.4 update it would be rather nice. £46.96 is the cheapest i’ve seen it: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/hello-color-FNF-ifive-100-2014-new-512MB-8G-0-3M-camera-7inch-1024-600-touch/1637523742.html
