First $99 Redmi 1S sale to see a healthy inventory of 40,000 units in India

Xiaomi’s preparations for their India sales turned out to be insufficient with the Mi 3 sales, that lasted under 5 seconds except for the first time, when Flipkart’s servers crashed. Learning from their mistakes are Xiaomi, and launching the Redmi 1S flash sales with a good 40,000 units for the first one.

According to reports, Xiaomi and Flipkart have already gathered about 100,000 registrations for the sale. Now that’s a massive number, considering that its been only a couple of days since the registrations started. The actual sale is scheduled for the 2nd of September.

The Mi 3 was sold in batches of 20,000 most of the time, so 40,000 is a good leap. The Redmi 1S costs less than half of the Mi 3 at just 5,999 INR or $99, which is why Xiaomi is preparing for the worst (the best?). Like every other Xiaomi product, the Redmi 1S too will be sold via Flipkart.
