OnePlus’ 10,000mAh power bank launched; Costs just $15!

After a little teasing, OnePlus have made official their first ever power bank. If you’ve been reading GizChina lately, you’d have read our speculation about OnePlus’ possible power bank that we thought was in the works.

The power bank was unveiled today, besides a couple other announcements. As previously believed, the power bank is indeed 10,000mAh in capacity, which means it’s going to go head on against the Mi 10,400mAh power bank. OnePlus have also managed to keep the price within reach — just US$ 14.99/EUR 15.99 in this case.

Gizchina News of the week

The power bank will be available via the OnePlus online store — oneplus.net — early next year. You’ll be able to color co-ordinate the power bank with your OnePlus One if you have one, because the power bank too will be available in Sandstone Black and Silk White.

The other contests that OnePlus have introduced include a name-the-ROM contest wherein contestants can name the upcoming OnePlus ROM which will feature on the One and other OnePlus phones in the future. The company is also celebrating its first anniversary today, and offering the OnePlus One in both 16GB and 64GB in an open sale to celebrateĀ the same. The phones too can be purchased via the OnePlus online store.

Living in China, I can say this is way too pricey! I paid CNY 69 for the Xiaomi power bank. :/

He is complaining about the equivalent of less than $4. Something tells me the Chinese market does not share the same opinion as this cheapskate.

$15 USD is only like 92 CYN anyways. Why would you complain? 23 CYN is no big deal unless you are like 15 years old.

        I must admit that I’m spoilt! šŸ™‚

Even so, in my country of origin that power bank is 16 ā‚¬ (plus shipping?) ā†’ 122 yuan, almost double the Xiaomi offer.

Thx buddy! Well, I’m a OPO owner, yet I believe the price of this item is too high, below 70 yuan would’ve been a real hit. Indeed, I bought the OPO because at that time (July 2014) it was the best smartphone by quality/price ratio out there. Even now is quite a good choice; and so I expected the best price from them in every product.

Ok, how you say, if you live out of China you must compare the reseller’s prices, and in this case, the OPO power bank is very close to Xiami price (or cheaper in some cases).

are you total blinded from chinese market or why you are going crazy if you see news like this? I bought a power bank from Amazon shortly after the Xiaomi Power bank was released. I paid 13 euro’s for that. Shipping in 24 hours from Germany. Capacity 13000 mah, 1 1000 mah output, the other one 2000 mah.
It’s a great power bank, really happy with it.

I’m looking for the best phone on the market for me since 3 years. I bought many chineses mobiles in this 3 years because I was totally disappointed about EU available devices.
But what I never lost in this time is the view for good products for a reasonable price. Not every product from china is cheaper and better than that one you will get in your home country, without the problems with bad shops and tax, long shipping time etc. This offer from oneplus, also the Xiaomi for international customers are totally uninteresting.
I can not understand the hype about?!

Without knowing the quality, can’t say if it’s cheap or pricy. So far, the RAVPower Element 10400mAh is the battery pack I like the best.

The OnePlusā€™ 10,000mAh is top of the range for sure however there are definitely other options that do the job. The size is definitely the advantage to this power bank but it is not big enough to be a backup power supply for an iPad.

We travelled Asia and found the small (in size) or big (in capacity) were the best options. iPads where a nightmare so the larger capacity is definitely needed if you are intending to do this!

Here is a list of power banks we used, some of them were good the others not so much. http://www.whoneedsmaps.com/best-power-banks

The onePlus seems to be an awesome power bank for use during the day but don’t expect too many cycles from it!
