Elephone’s entry in to the large battery space, the Elephone P4000, will be officially announced tomorrow along with an amazing low price.

Chinese phone makers are now concerning themselves with battery size than ever before and recently we have seen a flood of phones with large batteries entering the market. Elephone, not wanting to be left behind, will tomorrow finally announced the Elephone P4000.

At $129.99 the Elephone P4000 meets the usual Elephone low costs, but even at that low price the battery in the devices is a huge 4800mAh unit! Big enough to double up as a powerbank.

Gizchina News of the week

Elephone haven’t shared with us the charge time or run time of the phone, but with 1GB RAM, 5-inch HD display, 64bit quad-core chip and Lollipop all as standard we imagine that you should get a couple of days use from a single charge.

More details of the phone will be available on the Elephone homepage tomorrow.

What makes you think that? Elephone usually has pretty good cameras (for the price range).

This article makes it seem this is Elephones first entry into the large batter scene. The P5000 was released in February with a 5350mAh battery.

    Now onto this phone:

I actually like the looks of it, it’s colorful without being juvenile. If I was in the market for a budget phone I would consider it depending on the reviews of it. Also Elephones website lists the following:

    MT6735
    720p
    Dual 4G(FDD/TDD)

$130 for a phone with 1GB of RAM? What are they smoking? I would rather have a weaker CPU but 2Gb of RAM, but still I woulnd buy it for $130.

I like Elephone units but with 753 units released in the pass 5min you know that software support will be shitty, the P6000 still has a shit ton of bugs and I can’t see elephone fixing them at all, that’s the main reason I’m no longer aiming to get a p7000, the p3000s is already forgotten with bugs that never will be fixed.

Elephone runs a near stock ROM by default, so 1GB of RAM should be enough for most tasks. Plus, the main selling point of this device is it’s huge battery. Also, the P6000 has an extremely active community as far as I’m concerned. Why not just drop by XDA and see what’s fixed?

So FDD-LTE (bands 1,3,7) and TD-LTE (band 40) is considered world 4G mode?

    • balcobomber25
      May 7, 2015

Actually they are not entirely incorrect as those are are the most widely used bands in the world, every continent uses those bands. The majority of countries in Europe, South America, Asia and Africa have at least one network that operates on one of those bands. North America is the only exception with just Canada and a few of the islands operating on those bands.
