Coolpad’s Porto S & Torino S launch in Europe

China’s Coolpad has launched a couple new phones in Europe, the Porto S and the Torino S.

Both phones are fairly inexpensive and don’t really bother the flagship phones too much. Let us take a look at what they have to offer.

The Porto S is priced €129 and will be available in Germany and Switzerland towards the end of this month. The phone comes powered with the entry-level MediaTek MT6735P quad-core processor, and along with that packs 1GB RAM, 8 mega-pixel rear camera, 2 mega-pixel front facing camera and 8GB of on-board storage, all beneath a 5-inch 1280 x 720p IPS LCD display.

Moving on, the Torino S is a more expensive phone, priced at €199, with an option to choose between White and Champagne color variants. The Torino S has a 4.7-inch 720p display (covered in 2.5D curved glass), a Snapdragon 410 processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB on-board storage. There’s also an IR Blaster thrown in, while all of it is powered by an 1800mAh battery.

Head of European Business for Coolpad, Denny Qiu had the following to say:

Coolpad manufactures high quality products and we believe that our innovations are the key to success. With the introduction of the world’s first dual-SIM smartphone and the leadership in LTE smartphones in China, we have demonstrated our ability to innovate. Now we want to promote our innovation story in Europe.

It’s not a Xiaomi so isn’t important, still hasn’t bothered with the Meizu metal review that was due a few weeks ago either.

The E8 is really old now. Just watch reviews of the BLU Pure XL, same phone.

I’ve seen them all. There are about 5 different rebrandings of this same phone so I though I was relevant for these guys at GizChina to make a review out of the original manufacturer version. I have in my hands the PURE XL so now I don’t really need the review it would be only to showcase how good it is to other and the bad parts inherent to any device, like this one also has some.

Making fools out of Europeans is what coolpad’s motive looks like

Is this a joke? Ulefone Paris which now slowly is becoming “older” has waaay better specs for $130… Newer phones have, if not better specs, than at least full metal frame, better battery, fingerprint scanners etc.
