Huawei Honor V8 gets glimpsed on TENAA (4GB RAM, 5.7″)

Huawei’s Honor sub-brand has mostly been about budget flagship phones. This time around, though, Honor seem to be up to something different.

The Honor V8 is a phone that’s received a lot of attention from the rumour mills already. What we have on our hands this time though is something much bigger (figuratively and literally) — pictures of the phone.

The Honor V8 was spotted on China’s TENAA. The phone will come in at least three variants, namely KNT-AL10, KNT-TL10, and KNT-AL20 with the last one being the highest specced.

Gizchina News of the week

The KNT-AL10 and KNT-TL10 models come with 32GB storage and a 2.3GHz octa-core processor, whereas the KNT-AL20 variant of the Honor V8 has 64GB on-board storage and a 2.5GHz octa-core processor. This, while all versions have a hefty 4GB of RAM… and a 5.7-inch screen with a 2K display (a first for Honor).

A couple of things that these leaks confirm: dual rear camera setup (as speculated earlier) and laser focus. Quite clearly, Huawei is keen to bring the camera tech it bought from Leica to its budget Honor line… although the specifications of this device don’t make it look like a budget phone in any way.

We’ll know about that and more on the day of the phone launch, i.e. 10th May at 10:08am.

Really curious to see where they position this, price-wise, in China.

Let me assure you that it will not be cheap.

Huawei never ever selling their good product with budget price.
Only those with very super darn lousy spec then they sell a little bit cheaper.

They are aiming high in the sky for those rich loaded people or those youngster that still very easy to get money by crying at their mother father LOL.

Well there’s a P9 variant sub 3000RMB. I expect the 1080p variant of this will have to be around that mark.

This is going to be a great phone for people with tight budget .
But Trust me it won’t be as good as P9 .
Because most Honor phones are less optimised then Huawei Branded ones .
But it will be a great phone I think .

    NOOOO, why 2K screen?
That Mali 880MP4 can`t handle it very well, and I was so hoping this will be my next phone.
Now I know those ~300$ reports are fake, with those specs and a 2K screen this device will surely sell for over 400$.

Only question for me is : are these dual cameras from Leica ? It would be a strange decision from Huawei to discount there brand new camera setting in an Honor phone… and this would suggest a price rising to $500 – $600 for the next Honor “discount flagship”. Which isn’t a crazy price, since P9 sell for $900.

If it’s really Leica cam, then it may be a good buy (and make me wait a bit before ordering this ZUK flagship killer huhu).

i doubt the price will increase massively from the honor 7 , probably around the same

wasnt there already a pretty strong rumor that suggested the honor 8 will have a dual camera but no leica branding? the honor 6 plus already had a pretty decent double camera setup.

Pity about that brand name on the front bezel. Because that will most likely mean: on-screen buttons – again.

thats with all huawei phones and i like that, but i guess its personal preference.

yep, they all have it, that’s why I said ‘again’. And yes, it’s a matter of personal preference. They should offer both options in one phone, so user can choose. Shouldn’t be too hard imo.

well there are a lot of other brands for other options, samsung also doesnt offer on screen keys.

the frotn looks super ugly with that bottom chin..i’m really usually not the kind of person that hates because of bezels…

like i do like letv phones , honors past phones and the mi5.. i like the design of all of them but its jsut so meh that at the bottom there is such a huge space and at the top its way smaller…

like i do like on screen buttons but it jsut doesnt look right

http://puu.sh/ov7eB/693b2d6140.jpg on that pciture i saw before it looks even more dumb..i really hope the screen wont look that way

Given the competition i doubt it. They might go 2499 and 2999CNY, everybody went with 1080p so they got room.Ofc that’s just a guess, they could go even higher.

The new ZTE Axon is 1440p too, might end up being priced well http://shouji.tenaa.com.cn/Mobile/MobileDetail.aspx?code=RtrCLqU9FTwETY57%2bt72BBEr%2bvf8uxs%2b

            the Axon series , eh…
they’re usually meant for the premium niche … cant see this being priced below $350-400

              April 26, 2016

The Axon Pro launched at 399$ and only LeEco would have better pricing for the specs, assuming they go with the same 399$.
