The original
7inch Wopad was one of the
first easily and cheaply
available Android tablets on the market with a multi-touch capacative
screen. Almost a year has gone by since that
first Wopad, and to celebrate
Wopad have released a newer
updated 8 inch Wopad.
The Wopad 8i as it is formally known, is one of the first well spec'd 8 inch capacative screened tablets we have seen, sure it's still missing GPS and 3G, but all the elements which make say the Wifi iPad 2 great are there, only in a smaller, handier package.
As usual
Wopad have done a great job on making their
new tablet look great, but more so they have excelled at making this
8 inch tablet to perform exceedingly well too.
Under that
8 inch screen their is a
1Ghz Rockchips CPU clocked at
1Ghz with 512mb of
RAM helping speeding things along. This set up is fairly standard on the better Chinese tablets available, so to spice things up the
Wopad is running
Android 2.3 rather than the more common Android 2.2 system.
There are also a couple of cameras both front and back for taking photos and video chat.
We'll get some hands on time with the
8 inch Wopad 8i later early next week and will post our impressions then, but looking at the spec and the RRP, 1999
yuan ($312), it looks to be a great looking
8 inch Android tablet!
