AGSO SOMX Best Looking 7 inch Phablet of 2012?

Chinese tablet/phone maker AGSO have an amazing design team and have always managed to wow me with their great looking tablets, and now their all new 7 inch phablet has me weak at the knees!

Let’s just take a good look at the AGSO SOMX 7 inch design and body for a brief moment! Yeah, it looks a little on the thick side, but it also reminds me a Casio G Shock with chunky side profile, black front and brushed metal back!

It’s classy to say the least and seems to be in it’s own league of design when compared to many of the other Chinese made tablets we have seen in the past.

The screen on the AGSO SOMX is a 7 inch IPS high-resolution 1024 x 600 unit which offers a great, wide viewing angle and is said to be very responsive.

Gizchina News of the week

Firmly gripping that screen in position is that great looking body which uses a rugged plastic chassis with a metal back plate, which adds a touch of class and I imagine helps to protect the unit if it were to be dropped.

Under the hood and powering things is a Samsung Exynos 3110 CPU running at 1Ghx, PowerVR SGX540 GPU, and 512mb RAM.

Hardware highlights include a front facing 1.3 mega-pixel camera, 5 mega-pixel rear camera with auto focus and LED flash. As you would expect from a Phablet, the AGSO has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and supports both 3G and 2G networks and can act as a mobile hotspot.

Android 4.0 ICS is comes pre-installed, but there is not mention of a Jelly Bean update or if the SOMX comes with Android Play or not.

One interesting rumor about the SOMX is that it will have a built-in Ethernet so you can even browse the web when WiFi and 3G aren’t available!

@Andi, LoL, I was wondering the same thing. I have no idea what he’s talking about, and It makes no sense, LOL.

Anyway, what caught my attention Is the rumor of this having an Ethernet cable, now that sounds promising. I hope the rumors are true. More tablets need to have ethernet cables, for sure.

I want a 7″ phablet with a SIM card so I can put it in my smaller phone for evenings out with my friends. I’ll carry my 4.5″ phone when I’m doing other things away from home. At office or home I’ll use the 7″ phablet with my BT headset. I want huge battery for all day usage with no charging needed for 18 hours.

Either a troll or someone get too high from weed or worse.

Anyway, 7″ is not really a phablet, It is already a tablet, IMHO. Yes, 10.1″ Galaxy Note is a tablet in my book.

Smart michael, subscribing, and coming back regularly, to a website that has, and always will be, about Chinese tech.
And now for the tab – it might look good, but, unless being under the 100$ price range, is something I wouldn’t want to pick up myself.

Hi Andi, do you think with the 5800 MAh battery this phablet could really last for 8 hours?
