More UMi X2 details and images released

The UMi X2 is causing quite a stir on the UMi forums as fans check out the amazing spec’s and ponder the possible retail price of this quad-core MT6589 phone.

The UMi X1 arrived this year to take on the JiaYu G3 phone with its similar specification, low price and amazing sleek design. The UMi X2 continues the tradition of high power and great design, but we are not so sure about the low-price part.

Gizchina News of the week

UMi have yet to release any details of price or a launch date, but judging from what we do know about this Chinese MT6589 phone we can’t expect a similar 899 Yuan price tag as we got with the X1. According to reports the new UMi phone will feature the faster, quad-core MediaTek MT6589 CPU, 2GB RAM, a 4.7-inch HD display (1920 x 1080) display and 12 mega-pixel rear camera all wrapped up in a 8.9mm thin body.

Judging from what we learned this weekend in Shenzhen, it won’t be likely that we will see this (or any other large production MT6589 phones) until the first quarter of next-year, but when they do arrive we can expect prices to start at around 1200 Yuan ($200) and rising!

X1 is already an excellent machine sang the useless GPS. Hope the X2 is even better with the GPS working.I would consider buying X2 when available and ditched my X1.
