TCL have started the new year with not one but two quad-core MT6589 smartphones ahead of domestic rivals! The TCL Y900 has already been shipped out to reviewers across China, and it looks like it will soon be joined with the new TCL P600.
The TCL P600 offers a smaller 4.5-inch screen, making it perfect for users who feel a 5-inch phone is just to much. The panel on the TCL P600 is a cost cost effective 960 x 540 QHD unit with an anti-smudge coating, suggesting that this quad-core phone will priced somewhat lower than other similar phones.
TCL have also given the P600 a thin 8.5mm profile which will be available in a choice of pink, white and silver, and even boasts a splash proof coating to protect it from spills.
Android 4.1 Jelly Bean will run on the quad-core MT6589 28NM CPU which will operate alongside 1GB RAM. The rest of the specification includes a 1800mAh battery, 8 mega-pixel rear camera, 1.3 mega-pixel front camera and support for WCDMA/GSM and high speed HSPA+.
TCL are expected to launch the P600 by the end of January where it will be priced at around 1599 Yuan ($256).
