Following the latest rounds of
Xiaomi rumours has been a confusing roller coaster of speculation, purported
benchmarks and leaked
photos, but it finally seems to be sorted and their could be 2
new phones launching on April 9th!
We know that Xiaomi are lining up a
new phone to replace the old M1s, and have even seen the official
network license approval from the Chinese authorities, but it's the conflicting reports which have made things confusing.
Yesterday we reported that sources in
Shenzhen claim that 300,000 MT6589 quad-core equipped phones are currently being assembled ready for a
launch on April 9th, but in the past we have seen
benchmarks of Xiaomi device running a dual-core
Snapdragon processor and reaching
Antutu scores of around 18,000.
Reports are now surfacing that 2
new phones could arrive on April 9th one a low-cost
Xiaomi Mi2S which will sport a Mediatek chip and a higher range model called the
Mi2a which a Qualcomm MSM8930 dual-core clocked at 1.7Ghz.
We're not sure what to make of these claims, but we are interested in seeing what Xiaomi do have planned for this rumoured Xiaomi Festival in
Beijing and intend on being there to bring you the latest
news.
