TCL Idol X gets 2GB RAM and 1.5Ghz MT6589T Processor!

TCL and Alcatel may have teamed up to launch a range of high end MTK equipped Android smartphones, but it looks to us TCL have been keeping the best for themselves and will soon launch an updated Idol X with 2GB RAM and Turbo MT6589T CPU!

The Alcatel Idol X launched earlier this year and really became a hit due to it’s affordable price, great styling and excellent hardware. Well if you thought the Alcatel version of the Idol X was good you’re going to love the TCL model even more!

Gizchina News of the week

TCL have taken the Idol X and made it their own with a 5-inch 1080 display, 2GB RAM, 1.5Ghz quad-core MT6589T processor and 13 mega-pixel rear camera all wrapped up in a light-weight 120g, 6.99mm body with 1.75mm bezels!

The whole phone looks great with the only possible downside being that the battery is a non replaceable unit. The TCL Idol X will launch later in the year and will be available in similar bright colors as the Alcatel variant.

Nice. It could be a cheaper alternative to Alcatel’s models.

    Any word on the pricing?

1.75mm bezel……..!!!!! That’s just incredible, hope they don’t price it on par with HTC one or Samsung Galaxy S4………..

It’s an MTK phone, they wont. They can do slimmer bezels, but they’re saving them for when there’s no more features you can advertise.

TCL bought Alcatel brand for marketing purpose in Europe.
So TCL = Alcatel. For example TCL P600 = Alcatel one touch snap.

Quite often the display pictures used are of the real product, not the copies. Honestly I’d avoid clones and buy actual Chinese brands like Zopo

I have a HDC One and a Premier. You can read my One’s review here :
        http://www.dhgate.com/hdc-one-4-7-inch-screen-quad-core-mt6589/p-ff8080813de858f9013e45226a7f5df8.html

Pictures of android sale are real for the Premier and HDC One.

The premier is heavier, bigger and thicker than my real S4 (photos are real). Screen is really 1080p though and camera can’t shoot in 18MP, only 13MP so far, i’m trying to sort this out with a developper and to finish batteries are fake, not 2500mA imo, but 1500mA according to battery widget.

So HDC isn’t too great, but you are still getting a good phone.
