While the rest of the world can
buy the
Alcatel One Touch
Idol X for $300,
Chinese customers can now
buy it as the
TCL Idol X for just $277 with an
updated 1.5Ghz chipset!
TCL (the manufacturers of Alcatel phones here in
China) and China’s E-commerce giant Jingdong Mall (formally 360buy) have teamed up to
launch the exclusive
TCL Idol X here in
China.
If you’re familiar with the Alcatel One Touch Idol X, you will already notice that the TCL version uses the same design and even packs the same hardware, which is all impressive stuff considering the low-price tag.
The business end of the phone boasts a 5-inch OGS,
1080 display with 1.75mm narrow bezels to keep the
Idol X at a comfy size. Speaking of size the
TCL Idol X measures just 6.99mm, however this has limited the battery to just a 2000mAh unit!
Other hardware highlights include an
updated 1.5Ghz
quad-core Mediatek
MT6589T processor with faster GPU,
2GB RAM, 16GB built-in memory, 13 mega-pixel rear camera and
Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS!
Jingdong Mall started selling the
TCL Idol X yesterday and are
shipping the phone with a flip
cover which features a window so you can see notifications and weather info without having to open it.
