Xiaomi Tablet teaser image, could launch 16th August

Xiaomi’s first Android tablet appears once again in a ‘Purple Rice’ teaser image.

Before the Xiaomi Red Rice launched at the end of last month Facebook and Weibo was full of teaser images of the phone with a red curtain covering the device. Now with August 16th just 10 days away a new teaser image has appeared online hinting at the launch of the Xiaomi tablet aka Purple Rice (Zi Mi).

Gizchina News of the week

Previous leaked images of the Purple rice tablet suggest an Android device similar in size to the iPad mini, powered by a quad-core Mediatek MT8125 processor with built-in 3G.

If our sources are correct them the Xiaomi tablet will launch for just 999 Yuan ($160) on August 16th along with the Xiaomi Mi3 and the Xiaomi TV.

Hyundai T7S is already a very good tablet for this price, only battery life is too short. Will this Xiaomi tablet beat it?

Lucky me, I’m just waiting for Pipo m9pro to be instock in next week. If Xiaomi tablet will release in next week too. Maybe I should place order to xiaomi instead.

Yep, m9pro meets all my ideal tablet specs (10″ FullHD, 2GiB RAM, quad-core A9, GPS, 3G, big battery). The only minor nit I have is its non-usb charger, I would much prefer to have one wall charger for both my phone and my tablet.
