Xiaomi Unveils 20,000mAh 45W and 67W Power Banks With New Safety Standards

If you're an old-school Xiaomi fan, you probably remember that, besides smartphones, another product also helped the brand make a name for itself among tech fans - the power banks. The company was a pioneer in delivering good and affordable power banks and keeps bringing decent devices for this particular niche. Today, the brand is introducing two new 20,000mAh power banks, offering 45W and 67W charging speeds. The main update for these models is that they are built to comply with China's new 2026 national safety standards for portable batteries (GB 47772 - 2026).

The 45W Xiaomi Power bank is available for CNY 229 ($34), and the 67W version costs about CNY269 ($40). Both are available starting today on Xiaomi's Youpin.

Xiaomi 20,000mAh Power Bank Specs and Features

Both power banks feature a built-in USB-C cable, alongside one standard USB-C port and one USB-A port. The integrated cable is made of TPU and sticks into a slot on the side. Interestingly, it can also work as a small carrying loop. This latter characteristic probably means that this cable has some extra resistance.

Both versions will be available in Light Brown and Light Blue color options. The 67W model comes with a digital screen on the side to show the battery percentage and current charging status. The 47W model, on the other hand, relies on indicator lights.

The 45W model supports up to 45W for both input and output through the USB-C connections. The 65W model also supports 65W rates in both the input and output sides. The USB-A port, on the other hand, provides up to 22.5W charging. They support multiple charging standards like PD 3.0, PPS, and QC 3.0.

If you charge multiple devices at the same time, the total power output is capped at 15W across all ports. They also include a low-current mode for safely charging small accessories like wireless earbuds and smartwatches.

The batteries are safe for airplane travel since both are rated at 74Wh and 74.37Wh, which fall below the limit of 100W set by commercial airlines.

The New Power Banks Comply with 2026 Safety Regulations

To meet the new 2026 safety regulations, Xiaomi added 16 hardware protection features. Furthermore, the internal cells are tested to withstand high compression and temperatures up to 135°C for an hour.

Another interesting feature is a battery management system that smartly allows the user to check battery health, charge cycles, temperature, and charging error logs via the USB-C cable.
