Tablet maker Smart Q are hoping to be the second
Chinese manufacturer to
launch an
Android smartwatch.
Smart Q are looking to take on
start-up Geak in the
wearable device market in China. The Smart Q W1
smartwatch will be the first
Android based
wearable from the company and will likely go on sale before the end of this month.
The W1 comes with a 1.55 inch LG multi-touch display,
WIFI, Bluetooth
4.0, and runs Android 4.1. The W1 will also feature a number of sensors to
monitor activities and will come with a few basic
applications including email client, alarm clock, messenger and phone app.
Pricing has not been announced but judging by the price of similar devices the Smart Q could
cost as little as 999 Yuan ($160).
