JiaYu G5 receives network license, could launch soon!

In a typically un-JiaYu move the stainless steel bodied JiaYu G5 has been spotted at the Chinese Ministry of Communication where it has received its network license!

Generally speaking, when it comes to news of the JiaYu phone launch things never run smoothly! The JiaYu G3 launch last year was plagued with delays, and the G4 launch also ran on a little long than anticipated!

Gizchina News of the week

The JiaYu G5 launch looks to be heading in the right direction though, as the new phone has already received it’s network license allowing JiaYu to sell the phone. JiaYu have been wise not to make any promises with the G5 but this latest news is encouraging and could be a sign of an imminent launch!

Measuring just 7.9mm the G5 is a stainless steel phone with 3000mAh battery, 1.5Ghz quad-core MT6589T processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB memory, 4.5 inch 1280 x 720 OGS display, 13 mega-pixel rear camera, dual SIM and Android 4.2.1 OS.

There are two versions (as Jiayu G4) 7.9 mm for 1850 mAh and 9.85 mm for 3000 mAh. But I don’t see the reason to buy an ugly iphone looking monster.

Did Jiayu really need the G5? This G5? Its almost the same as G4. Whats the point to this phone? Why are they not launching the S1? Already Snapdragon 800 phones are available and Jiayu still haven’t managed to release their Snapdragon 600 phone.

    “Jiayu” “Soon”

Right, so it’s probably 6 months from now, optimistically speaking.

Jiayu G5 was officially presented in April, and first rumors about it were in January. So it is really possible to be produced soon… or at least before the new year )

LOL, the G4 Advanced still doesn’t seem to be available in large numbers yet, it may be longer for the G5 😉

Has the S1 got its network license yet?

G4 took forever to get the lisence for. And for the advanced edition – they had sourcing issues for 2GB ram, as they’re underdogs – and, major issues trying to actually utilize all that ram. This was Jiayu trying to deliver an optimal problems, but the hinderance was beyond their control.

The G5 already has the lisence now – and I don’t really see them presenting the ministry of communications with a buggy, unfinished product. So not only is it likely that the G5 is close to or fully developed already – but they can also start selling it as soon as they have production up and running.

Did you count how long it was since the G4 first got license to when it’s actually available for sales? Have you recounted G2 and G3?

      Exactly.

7.9mm thick, 3000mah battery and only 4.5 inch screen?

How did they fit that together 😮

Seems a bit better than the G4.

Jiayu trying to make smaller and thicker phones but with the 3000 big battery that’s good because others have the old 2000 for a 5 inch phone!
And yes Jiayu where are the Snapdragons?
