Vivo announces Funtouch ROM for Vivo Xplay

Vivo’s new Funtouch ROM brings new features to the already fantastic Vivo Xplay Android smartphone.

The Vivo Xplay still remains one of our favourite Chinese Android phones to date. It packs a 5.5-inch 1080 display, 2GB RAM, Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 CPU, NFC, air gestures…. You name it, the Xplay has it! However the phone is far from perfect, and many owners of the device have complained that the Vivo ROM on the phone is buggy, and lacks polish.

Gizchina News of the week

The good news now is that Vivo have launched the Funtouch ROM for the Xplay (other models coming later) which bring new features to the phone from the ability to add watermarks to photos, to gesture dialling and even ambient music. The Bad news is that it is still in Beta and may well have some bugs. Still it is nice to know that Vivo are working on a new ROM for the phone, let’s also hope they open up to developer support just as their sister company Oppo has.
