Early
leaked screenshots from a
Snapdragon 800 Xiaomi
Mi3 showed the
phone running
Android 4.4 KitKat, but Xiaomi have gone on the
record to state that this won’t be the
case!
Xiaomi are still waiting for Qualcomm to speed up
production of Snapdragon 800 processors to that they can finally start mass
production of a China Unicom,
WCDMA, version of their
flagship phone. Recent
leaked screenshots showed an S800
Mi3 running
Android 4.4 leading us to believe that Xiaomi were using the delay to develop a new version of
MIUI based on the latest Android release, but Xiaomi say this isn’t the
case.
On his official Weibo account Sun Peng from Xiaomi went on the
record to stat that Android
4.4 won’t becoming to the
Mi3 anytime soon and that the new
phone will
launch with Android 4.3 as planned.
Anyone who has used MIUI will probably see this as a none issues as Xiaomi’s heavily customised ROM is already featured packed.
