Coolpad are on of the larger brands in China, and much of the success is due to smartphones similar to the $47 Coolpad 7231. This low-cost handset has everything the average phone user on the a budget could ask for from dual SIM support, 4-inch display and dual-core Mediatek MT6572 processor.

Gizchina News of the week

It isn’t likely that this phone will go on sale outside of China, but with WCDMA support it will work with some of the more popular 3G networks around the globe.

yeah, but with 256MB ram !!! you heard that right.
with android 2.3 i wouldn’t mind, but android 4.2, i imagine that web browsing alone will be a challenge.
i would rather buy either ZTE v889s (mtk6577 with 512MB ram) slighly more expensive. two bucks more,
or the cheaper mogu m0 /s0 (spreadtrum chipset and no 3g ,256mb ram) run on 2.3 android
lastly on my list of cheapest decent phone, k-touch t580 (also spreadstrum chipset, wif 512 ram)
evnthough they are old i would imagine them having a better using expeirnce than Coolpad 7231. (these are just theories, not realworld usage)
