Samsung released a short 22-second clip on its Taiwanese YouTube
Channel Friday and the
internet has been swirling with
rumors and
speculation about it ever since. The video, entitled "Just for you" shows off a phone that appears to be the
Galaxy J while displaying phrases like "Just Simple" "Just Elegant" and "Just for you". The thinking goes that the excessive use of words that begin with J indicates that the
Galaxy J is no longer a Japanese exclusive phone and will be released in
Taiwan.
Engadget also pointed out that at a certain moment in the video the
device's serial number is displayed as "SC-02F" the
Galaxy J's model number, all but confirming that the
Galaxy J will be reaching
Taiwan sometime in the near future. That is not all, there are a few more guesses that can be gleamed from the video.
In the opening moments the video shows off a
Galaxy Gear watch with 13:00 Monday Dec. 9th displayed on it, leading some to speculate that the
Galaxy J would be launching in
Taiwan on December 9th, at 1pm. That time has come and gone, in
Taiwan at least, and there is still no official announcement on either
Samsung Taiwan's official page nor its Taiwanese YouTube Channel.
The Galaxy J is a beast of a device. It features a 5-inch 1080p Super AMOLED screen, a quad-core Snapdragon 800 CPU clocked at 2.6GHz, 3GB of RAM and a 13MP camera.
