CHUWI is taking on the ultra-light laptop market with a bold promise. Premium thin and light laptops like the Huawei MateBook X Pro and Honor MagicBook Art 14 now sit well above the $1,000 mark. CHUWI wants to change that with the new CoreBook Air series, bringing 1kg-class laptops to a much lower price range.

The company positions the CoreBook Air lineup as a strong alternative to the MacBook Air. CHUWI claims these are the most affordable 14-inch and 16-inch laptops in this weight class. Even with pricing starting below what most rivals charge, the brand says it avoided cutting key features. The goal is simple. Deliver a light, capable laptop that feels complete, not compromised.

Both CoreBook Air models use an aluminum alloy body and focus on portability. The standard CoreBook Air weighs just 1kg and features a 14-inch 16:10 IPS display with WUXGA resolution at 1920 x 1200. Colors look sharp thanks to full 100 percent sRGB coverage.

The CoreBook Air Plus steps things up with a larger 16-inch display at the same resolution. Even with the bigger screen, it stays light at 1.35kg and measures only 16.3mm thick. Slim bezels on both models help keep the design clean and modern, whether you are working or watching content.

CHUWI also introduces a new indigo color, moving away from the older CoreBook X styling. Inside, both laptops run on the AMD Ryzen 5 6600H processor, paired with Radeon 660M graphics. This setup handles daily work, multitasking, media, and even light gaming without trouble.

Better Audio and Smarter Extras

Audio comes from dual 2W box speakers that are tuned for clearer sound with less distortion. The CoreBook Air Plus adds a 2MP IR camera, which supports Windows Hello facial recognition for quick and secure logins.

Both models include a 2MP webcam with a physical privacy shutter, which is a nice touch for video calls and remote work.

Laptops Built for Everyday Productivity

CHUWI equips the CoreBook Air series with 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a 512GB PCIe SSD. Storage is user-upgradeable, which is rare in this segment. A full-size backlit keyboard, a large touchpad, and a dedicated Copilot key help speed up daily tasks and AI features in Windows 11.

Battery life is handled by a 55Wh battery in the CoreBook Air and a larger 60Wh unit in the CoreBook Air Plus. Both support 65W USB-C PD fast charging, so topping up is quick and easy.

Connectivity is solid across the board. You get USB-C, USB-A, HDMI 2.1 with 4K output, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.2. Windows 11 Pro comes pre-installed, along with Office, so the laptops are ready to use right out of the box.
