In its firstflashsale outside of the Chinese mainland, Xiaomi have managed to shift 10,000 Xiaomi Hongmi phones in less than 10 minutes in Taiwan.
The Xiaomi Hongmi was made available to Taiwanese customers today at a cost of NT$3,999 ($135) and offered the devices without the need to preorder or use a Xiaomi F code. Just as the phones sell so well in China, Xiaomi managed to move all 10,000 phones in only 9 minutes and 50 seconds!

Taiwanese Xiaomi customers also have the option of paying for their new phone with Paypal and then heading to the local Family Mart where they could pick the device up in person!
Taiwan is sure to see more sales like this in the coming months, and customers in Singapore may also enjoy affordable Xiaomi phones in the near future too!

Nice to know that they’re keeping the same price as in the maindland 🙂 I’m assuming that this will be the WCDMA version, right?
Nice but the normal and wcdma Hongmi don’t work in america, xiaomi and resellers only import the high end phones that work in america and are so expensive this is sad because a lot of people wants to buy low cost phones like the Hongmi if they made a international version compatible with america wcdma will sell a lot of phones, xiaomi maybe you need to think in all future buyers around the world , maybe the asian and european continent costumers are so lucky buying this nice low cost phone.
Who in US would buy this instead of Moto G or Lumia 520??? I can think only about hipsters who want to differentiate.
Those who needs dual sim 🙂
You lost credibility pointing out a Lumia XD. Moto X is a lot more expensive if you don’t want a contract, Xiaomi is a good brand, they are no where near as expensive as brands like sony or samsung, they can perform as good as them, and MIUI is really cool
