Oppo teaser hints at 2K display on the Oppo Find 7

When rumours of the Oppo N1 were being churned out Oppo were quick to deny what wasn’t correct, so when they themselves start hinting at possible tech on the Oppo Find 7 we should really take notice.

Over on the official Oppo Facebook page, the Oppo team have posted the above teaser asking if the Find 7 with have a 2K display or not. For those of you who didn’t know, Oppo were the first company to launch a 1080 HD phone at the end of last year with the Find 5, and could be the first to launch a phone equipped with a 2K panel.

I also posted the possibility that Oppo might use the a higher resolution 2560 x 1440 in my Oppo Find 7 specification predition here along with a few more hardware details I believe the phone may have.

If Oppo are planning to launch a 2K phone then they might not be the first to do it in China as Vivo have a similar display planned for their Vivo Xplay 3S, but they will likely be the first to launch internationally.

Why have companies started calling 2560×1440 for “2K”? More correctly it would be 2.5K, 1920×1080 is 2K

Yea, but it doesn’t sound as cool – 2.5k res. 2k is more bold, snappier.

Should just call it 1600pQHD and be done with it.

Love the wrap around screens, but not sure about if I could live with the design long term.
Display sounds battery hungry, but I had a 2yr old phone sitting around NO sim card and instead of 1 day it sat there for 10 days before it turned off. Lets hope whatever, it’s not as big as the N1. It needs to look like a phone, so 5-5.3 depending if wraparound screen.
Still wondering what were Andi’s suggestions for the not seen before tech? Could be many things… I still like the idea of a wideband spectrum camera. Or with 2k a magnifying glass TV option 🙂
