Just ahead of Dakele’s
phone launch,
CoolPad managed to announce their
Coolpad S6 4G
lte smartphone also powered by a Qualcomm
processor and great entry price.
Coolpad managed to become the
first phone maker in
China to
launch an affordable 4G
lte smartphone today. While not quite as affordable as the $250
Dakele L1, the
Coolpad S6 is still an attractive prospect for anyone wanting to benefit from faster data connectivity.
Like Dakele, Coolpad haven’t waited on Mediatek and have instead gone for a quad-core Qualcomm MSM8926
processor running at 1.2Ghz. The Qualcomm chip affords the S6 TDD-LTE, FDD-LTE, CDMA 2000, WCDMA and GSM connectivity as well as packing an Adreno GPU and WIFI 802.11a/c.

A 5.95-inch display is a nice touch at this price point, although it is just a
720p unit. Other highlights include
2GB RAM, 2800mAh battery (built-in),
13 mega-pixel main camera, 5 mega-pixel front,
Android 4.3 OS and space for a Micro SD card.
The CoolPad S6 will officially go on sale in
China on 24th February at 1999 Yuan ($320).
