First MT6595 Mediatek phone with 4G LTE and Android 4.4 KitKat spotted at MWC

GizChina’s roving reporter, Eduardo, is currently on the prowl around the show floor at MWC and has come across a device Chinese phone fans have been waiting for! A MT6595 Mediatek phone with 4G LTE and Android 4.4 KitKat!

This spy photo was quickly snapped by GizChina.es’ Editor and shows a prototype smartphone running the yet to be released MT6595 chipset from Taiwanese company Mediatek.

What’s more exciting still is this is a Mediatek device that is running Android 4.4 Kitkat, version 4.4.2 to be exact, and the processor also happens to be the first Mediatek SoC to have 4G LTE support built-in!

    Why such an old kernel version? My android 4.2 ThL has 3.4.5

          And anyway it means nothing… The 3.4.5 on MT6589T is not a real one. It’s a 3.4.0 ^^
          I think they upgraded to 3.10 anyway
